The PCC will be holding an Introduction to LinkedIn workshop on May 21 at 1 pm, and with that in mind, I thought I would share an article on LinkedIn “don’ts” from the Information Week website. People often think LinkedIn is a magical website that will instantly find you a job, but they often have no real idea what to do with their profile once they sign-up for an account. LinkedIn is not a magic bullet for people’s job search struggles, but it can be a useful tool if used correctly (and realistically). Pitfalls to be aware of when using LinkedIn include exaggerating your job titles or accomplishments, oversharing irrelevant information that clutters up your connections’ newsfeed, and (arguably one of the worst mistakes) doing nothing with your profile.
