You just got started with LinkedIn or you have the account for sometime, but not using it as much as you want to! As LinkedIn made changes to profile page design we saw some changes to be very obvious and some are more hidden! A good example of some what hidden setting is your unspoken agreement to allow LinkedIn to use your name and photo for 3rd-party advertising.
In your account settings, there is a box that LinkedIn has automatically checked for you by default, which gives your permission. If you want to stop sharing your name and photo in 3rd party advertising, please follow these simple steps:
- Log into your account.
- Click on your name (upper right corner).
- Click on Settings.
- Select Account.
- Under “Privacy Controls” section click on “Manage Social Advertising”
- Uncheck the box next to “LinkedIn may use my name, photo in social advertising”
- Don’t forget to click on “Save Changes”.
Feel free to share this with your contacts!
